Community Heroes all over Houston have been nominated as Hometown Champions to attend the 47th Annual NAACP Image Awards. HAULYP’s Community Outreach Chair, Kursten Berry is one of the nominations. Kursten Berry has a demonstrated genuine heart and love to the Houston community, which makes her a great candidate to win the contest.
Heading the Community Outreach committee of the Houston Area Urban League Young Professionals (HAULYP), Kursten works monthly to organize opportunities for young professionals to give back. From the youth to the elderly, the organization has touched many facets of the Houston community.
Through the organization’s signature Young Professionals University over 200 youth were inspired, motivated, and prepped for college. Several times throughout the year, the organization worked to help the less fortunate by volunteering with the Houston Food Bank, Rebuilding Together Houston, and Bread of Life. Kursten took the lead in organizing Warm for the Holidays, a blanket drive to help keep the Homeless warm during this chilly season.
Help us reward Kursten for her dedication and hardwork to the community by voting for her today as the Hometown Champion.
