THE MOVEMENT STARTS WITH YOU
JOIN WEEK 2016
Whitney M. Young, Civil Rights Leader and former head of the National Urban League, once spoke:
“Every man is our brother, and every man’s burden is our own. Where poverty exists, all are poorer. Where hate flourishes, all are corrupted. Where injustice reigns, all are unequal.”
As our society grows increasingly uneasy of the injustice and unequal opportunities it’s time for young professionals to stand up in the movement. This year we are needed more than ever to get involved in our communities. The nation is facing changing times with the presidential election ahead, and locally Houstonians are transitioning in a new set of city leadership. Today we must ask ourselves:
“What can I do to empower our community? How can I be the change I want to see in the world?”
The Houston Area Urban League Young Professionals is inviting you to join our Justice League. This January, we are hosting a series of events to kick off a new year of empowering the Houston community and changing lives.
