The Clarity Group has invited young professionals to attend Morgan Stanley’s private screening of Poverty, Inc.

In the course of the financial planning work they do, charitable giving is one of the most fulfilling discussions they have with clients.  Everyone has giving goals large and small to make an impact in their respective communities and beyond to help alleviate poverty, improve health, expand education, etc.

Just this past October, they learned of Poverty, Inc.’s new documentary that shines the light on charitable giving’s sometimes unintended consequences of causing more dependency instead of empowering self-sufficiency. This is a topic that requires a much needed discussion and is starting to create a new level of awareness to what it means to give and to help. The biggest charitable impact comes by providing a hand UP, not a hand OUT.

As an organization who feels very strongly about charitable giving, their team felt compelled to arrange a private showing and share this important film with their group’s clients and close friends on Feb 20th in honor of Social Justice Day.  In addition, they have invited two local charity partners, Dress for Success Houston & Habitat for Humanity to join us in a Q&A discussion after the film about the local impact their organizations are making.

It should be an intellectually stimulating event. The Clarity Group hopes everyone will join them, bring their families and have a dialogue to rethink poverty and how to best make an impact with your charitable giving.

The RSVP instructions are below.  There is limited seating for this private event so please respond early.
